Friday Photo: Manhattan Over The Nose
New York has one of the most famous skylines in the world, and there’s no better way to see it than from the cockpit of an airplane. Jody Kochansky was lucky enough to get a view of Manhattan from his Cirrus SR-20 on a perfectly clear day, and he shares it in this week’s Friday Photo.
The View: The Big Apple (Manhattan, NY).
The Pilot: Jody Kochansky.
The Airplane: Cirrus SR-20.
The Mission: Westchester to Cape May for Wings of Freedom Tour.
The Memory: Cleared into NY Class Bravo airspace for shortcut to KWWD.

* Jody Kochansky was fascinated with World War II as a kid and dreamed of flying a P51 Mustang. After finishing college, he shifted focus to his career and young family. He rekindled his interest in aviation when he gave his son an “Experience Flight” for his 15th birthday. Jody passed his private pilot check ride 2 days after his 49th birthday and has starting on his instrument rating. He hasn’t yet flown a P51, but is working towards another dream of island hopping in the Bahamas with his wife for his 50th birthday!
